Everything We Know So Far About Hextech Mayhem

Continuing off the success of their animated series Arcane, Riot is adding a new game to their portfolio called Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story. Together with developers Choice Provisions and under the Riot Forge publisher label, this new game sets familiar League characters Ziggs and Heimerdinger in Piltover where players have to follow musical queues to attack enemies and avoid obstacles.

What's The Game About?

Think of it as the 2D platform craziness of something like Ratchet & Clank mixed with music-focused gameplay of something like Bit.Trip Runner (also made by Choice Provisions). It looks like Ziggs is looking to build “the greatest bomb the world has ever seen” and will have to outrun Heimerdinger to do so through the neighborhoods of Piltover. Players control Ziggs and must listen to the music and stay on beat in order to bomb and disarm enemies. The better you follow the rhythm, the better your combos will be for even more mayhem. But of course you’ll need to avoid Heimerdinger, so staying on beat is also how you avoid obstacles and the city’s Enforcers.

When Will It Be Available?

The game comes out on November 16, 2021 and is currently available for pre-order at www.hextechmayhem.com. You'll be able to play it on the PC via Steam, the Epic Games store, and GOG.com, or on the Nintendo Switch. The $9.99 purchase gets you the game, but pre-orders now look like it will also grant you an exclusive Ruined Ziggs Skin for the Hextech Mayhem game.
