Helldivers 2 is the latest first-person shooter released by PlayStation, and it’s been off to a high flying start on both PS5 and Steam.
One of the aspects that has plagued the game thus far is players struggling to get online, due to server issues.
Now, there’s some players encountering some issues in regards to a black screen when entering Helldivers 2.
Helldivers 2 Black Screen Error: What It Means, How To Resolve and More
Helldivers 2 features a ton of destruction within the game, and whether you’re calling down an orbital strike to enemies, or using one of the new weapons you unlocked, something is always being shot at.
However, with the game now peaking at over 400,000 players just on Steam alone, the games servers are being pushed to their limits, and some players are unfortunately feeling the side effects of this.
Now, if you’re trying to enter into the game, you’re more than likely going to encounter a black screen, which is the result of the servers being at the max limit.
In order to resolve this for the time being, we recommend loading the game back up, and trying to push yourself past the queue to get into the game, and don’t fear, as your game isn’t broken.
Other works around involve the following in your graphics settings.
- Graphics
- Turn “Screen-Space Global Illumination” off
- Turn “Anti-Aliasing” off
Other resolutions include.
- Verify your Steam game files
- Don’t launch the game in full screen.
- This can be done via editing the game files, by searching ‘C:\Users\User-Name\AppData\Roaming\Arrowhead\Helldivers2.’
- Open the file via Notepad, and edit the in-game resolution to anything but fullscreen.
The issue lies within the game server limits, as there’s a hard capacity set at 450,000 players, as noted by the developers over at Arrowhead Studios. With the game reaching peak player base each day, there’s no telling when they’ll get around to up the servers.
