Turtle Beach® announces Audio Advantage Amigo®

- Impressive Features, Digital Output and Signal Processing Brings Rich, Dynamic Sound to Notebook or Desktop PCs -

Yonkers, NY, 02/16/2006 -- Turtle Beach announces "Amigo", the latest addition to its Audio Advantage series of USB audio adapters designed for PC users who are serious about portable, high quality audio. Amigo transforms the built-in sound of the average laptop into a rich audio experience, packing an impressive array of features into a package that’s about the size of a USB memory stick. Amigo’s unique design provides simulated surround sound, a stereo headphone amplifier, digital audio output and a built-in microphone, making it an ideal accessory for playing PC games, watching DVD movies, using VoIP applications, or listening to music. Amigo also includes a convenient volume/mute control so notebook users no longer have to fumble with hot keys to control the volume level. Amigo is ideal for viewing DVD or digital movies because its S/PDIF digital output connects a notebook or desktop PC to home theater systems, allowing pass through of 5.1 channel Dolby® Digital or DTS surround sound.

The feature-rich Amigo package includes a headset with microphone for use with Internet Phone applications such as Skype™ , Microsoft®’s MSN Messenger, and Google Talk. The package also features a suite of audio management/editor software with a control application that provides audio effects, a versatile audio mixer, and a stereo 10-band EQ with ambience control for full, dynamic sound.

"Amigo is perfect for notebook owners who want high-quality audio on the road or at home. It’s compact, easy to use, and can handle it all. For instance, students can use the built-in mic to record lectures on their notebook PCs and business travelers can use the headset with Internet phone software to make phone calls on the road. Then, when it’s time to relax, the digital output lets you watch movies on your notebook with Dolby surround sound on your home theater system. The value is tremendous because you get a full-featured audio software package, headset and a miniature, yet versatile USB audio device." said Seth Dotterer, Director of Marketing of Turtle Beach.

System requirements include a host computer with Pentium 800 MHz (or faster) CPU with at least 128MB RAM and 100MB free drive space, a USB port, a CD-ROM drive, Windows® 2000 (or higher) operating system, and a sufficient speaker system for playback. An optional programmable remote control is also available.

The Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Amigo is currently available for a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $49.95.
